WebUsed the drive wiper and selected free space only a few days ago. Use it weekly. Then yesterday that freespace wipe option is gone. Like gone. Uninstaller ccleaner and reinstalled it. Option Came back, even ran it. Then by the next day, that option is gone again. Drive wiper is still in Tools but not the free space option. WebWiping free space will have no affect on performance at all. It's only benefit is when used as a security feature, to ensure that all traces of sensitive data are removed from the drive before transferring it to someone else, or excessing it; for that purpose, I would not use CCleaner, but a more robust security application.
